Billing FAQ

Do I need prior authorization for transport?
It depends on your insurance plan and the type of transport. Many Medi-Cal and Medicare transports require prior authorization. We handle the authorization process on your behalf whenever possible.
How quickly do facilities receive invoices?
Invoices are generated within 48 hours of transport completion. Each invoice includes full trip documentation, ePCR reports, and any supporting paperwork needed for your records.
What happens if insurance denies my claim?
We work with you to appeal denied claims when appropriate. If a transport ultimately isn't covered, we offer private-pay options and will discuss pricing before any additional charges are applied.
Can I get a quote before booking?
Yes. Call us at 800-880-0556 or email dispatch@wcambulance.com with the transport details, and we'll provide a clear quote based on distance, level of care, and insurance coverage.
