Which level of medical transport does my situation call for in LA County?
If the patient can sit safely in a wheelchair, a wheelchair van is usually right. If they need to remain lying flat, that is a stretcher van. If they need clinical monitoring en route, that is a BLS ambulance, and ICU-level or ventilator patients need SCT/CCT with an RN or RT on board. Describe the patient to dispatch and we will match the level for you.
How far ahead should I book transport across Los Angeles County?
Standing appointments — dialysis three days a week, recurring infusion or wound care visits — are best set up once as a recurring schedule. For one-off trips, more notice helps most on the long legs, such as an Antelope Valley pickup heading into the basin or a Malibu run at peak hours on PCH. Yes.
