Terms of Service.

Last Updated: March 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the services provided by West Coast Ambulance ("we," "us," or "our"), including our medical transport services and website. By requesting or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Acceptance of Terms

By booking a transport, using our services, or accessing our website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you are booking on behalf of a patient, you represent that you have the authority to agree to these Terms on their behalf.

Services Description

West Coast Ambulance provides non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) and ambulance transport services across Los Angeles County, Orange County, and Kern County. Our services include:

  • Wheelchair and stretcher transportation (NEMT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance transport
  • Specialty Care Transport (SCT) ambulance transport
  • Specialty Care Transport (SCT) and Critical Care Transport (CCT)
  • Scheduled and on-demand medical transport
  • Interfacility transfers and hospital discharge transport

Service availability varies by location. NEMT is available in all three counties; BLS and CCT ambulance services are available in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. All services are subject to crew and vehicle availability.

Booking and Cancellation

Booking

Transport requests can be made by calling our dispatch center at 800-880-0556 or emailing dispatch@wcambulance.com. We accept both scheduled and same-day requests. A confirmed booking is not a guarantee of a specific vehicle or crew member, though we make every effort to meet stated preferences and requirements.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made more than 2 hours before the scheduled pickup time incur no charge. Cancellations made within 2 hours of pickup, or after the crew has been dispatched, may be subject to a cancellation fee. Fees vary by service type and will be communicated at booking.

No-Show Policy

If our crew arrives at the pickup location and the patient is not ready or available within a reasonable wait time (typically 15 minutes), the trip may be recorded as a no-show. No-show trips may be subject to a fee. We will make reasonable attempts to contact the patient or booking party before departing.

Patient Responsibilities

Patients and those booking on their behalf are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and complete medical information, including current condition, medications, allergies, and special requirements
  • Disclosing any infectious or communicable diseases so appropriate precautions can be taken
  • Being ready at the designated pickup location at the scheduled time
  • Following crew instructions during transport for safety purposes
  • Providing accurate insurance and billing information
  • Ensuring a responsible party is available at the dropoff location when applicable

Failure to provide accurate medical information may result in the wrong level of care being dispatched, which can delay transport or compromise patient safety.

Liability Limitations

West Coast Ambulance maintains appropriate commercial liability insurance and professional malpractice coverage for all services provided. However:

  • We are not liable for delays caused by traffic, weather, road conditions, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control
  • We are not responsible for pre-existing medical conditions or deterioration unrelated to our transport services
  • Our liability for property damage during transport is limited to items in our direct custody
  • We are not liable for outcomes resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the patient or booking party

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Insurance and Payment

We accept Medi-Cal, Medicare, most commercial insurance plans, workers' compensation, and private pay. It is the patient's or responsible party's obligation to:

  • Verify that their insurance covers the specific type of transport being requested
  • Provide accurate insurance information at the time of booking
  • Pay any copays, deductibles, or coinsurance amounts as required by their plan
  • Pay for services in full if insurance does not cover the transport or if a claim is denied

For facility accounts, billing terms (including net-30 payment terms) are established under separate facility agreements. Overdue balances may be subject to late fees as outlined in your facility agreement.

HIPAA and Privacy

We are a HIPAA-covered entity and protect all patient health information in accordance with federal and state privacy laws. For full details on how we collect, use, and protect your information, please review our Privacy Policy.

By using our services, you acknowledge that certain health information will be shared with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other authorized parties as necessary for treatment, payment, and healthcare operations.

Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on our website with an updated effective date. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes that significantly affect your rights will be communicated through reasonable notice.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services shall be resolved in the courts of the State of California, County of Los Angeles.
